Hand Sewing with Jeanette Schanilec
Sewing by hand is a fun, creative artistic expression, a great foundation for learning to sew by machine, and an invaluable life skill for boys and girls! In this small group class, students will go at their own pace, hand-sewing individualized projects geared to their own skill level and interests. We will start with the fundamentals: threading a needle, tying knots, basic stitches, sewing on a button and essential sewing safety while creating stuffed creatures, personal accessories and room décor. As each student’s sewing interests and skills progress they will learn more stitches, vocabulary and practice some practical math skills. Appropriate for all levels of experience - beginner to advanced.
Taught by Queen Anne resident and life-long sewing enthusiast, Jeanette Schanilec. For more information, visit the “QAE Sewing” page on Just Crafts.
