Join us for our annual benefit auction—a very special night that will make a huge difference in the lives of our children, while celebrating everything that makes QAE so special. You'll be part of an incredible group of people rallying around the kids to provide them with social emotional learning, a school counselor, reading and math specialists, and so much more.
There will be live music, wine tasting, a wine toss, silent auction, live auction and other surprises. You don't want to miss the most spectacular event of the year. Together, we're going to put a whole lot of "fun" into fundraising!
Where: Block 41 in Belltown When: Friday, March 22nd, 2019, 6pm Who: QAE Parents and Community Members Why: To raise funds to support the valuable programming our PTSA does for the school!
After last year's success in not having a set price to attend, we're doing it again this year. We want the QAE community to be inclusive, we want to create a special night that everyone can enjoy!
Get A Sneak Peek At Live Auction Catalog Here! What's inside? Well, you'll have to click to find out. But here's a few hints...Hawaii anyone? Dinner at Canlis? Oh Canada? Oh yeah, it's amazing...and these great items and more can all be yours on Friday!
What's different this year? We've created a more casual, inclusive event:
Flexible ticket pricing -- all are welcome to attend, regardless of ability to pay. We ask for you to donate what you can when RSVPing to help cover the costs and support our school.
Casual seating -- no need to worry about who is sitting where!
Fun activities -- there will be a band, wine tasting, a photo booth in a VW bus and much more.
Innovative approach to classroom art -- this year we are changing the format and style of the classroom art contributions in order to better showcase classroom learning and create more price points for parent giving. Some of the awesome projects you’ll have a chance to purchase: whale PBL pendants, “What’s in Your Heart?” PBL photo books, beautifully painted rain barrels, curated wine with your child’s custom artwork on it, and many more!
What's the same as the past?
This is the primary fundraiser to support our school. We need your help supporting our school!
There will still be a live auction
We'll have silent auction items at the event and an online auction as well
Great food and drinks at the event
Why are we asking for donations NOW vs. straight RSVP? In the past, ticket prices helped offset the event costs. We are hoping with enough donations, sponsorships and pure good will that we can raise and cover our approx. $45k in auction expenses. We hope to be able to say that "EVERY DOLLAR" raised this evening is going straight to our kid’s educational services.
Who can attend? While it's not intended for the kiddos, anyone else who wants to support QAE or just hang out with some lovely folks are welcome to attend! Maybe you have an incoming kindergartener next year? Or you're a grandparent of a current student? Regardless of your affiliation, you're invited.
If it's free, do I need to RSVP? Yes! We need to give our caterers a count of how many people will be there. We want to make sure there are enough wine glasses for everybody!
Why did you get rid of the ticket prices? We heard from the school community that ticket prices were a barrier to attend. We want to make this event inclusive and be able to celebrate with our community! We are also hoping this translates to more people and additional donations.
If I donate to the auction is it tax deductible? When you make a donation as part of your RSVP, any donation over $40 is tax deductible. The $40 is our reasonable estimate of the fair market value of apps, dinner and drinks – the "goods" you will be receiving for the evening. Any items purchased at the auction will have a fair market value that we will report to you. Any cost you pay beyond the FMV is tax-deductible.
