General Enrichment Information for 2019-2020 Enrichment Programs will be run by KidsCo. The goal of Enrichment is to include a variety of class types to meet the interests of students, with offerings for all grade levels. KidsCo will host classes Monday through Friday, with options for all grades each day. There will be three 8-week sessions offered over the year:
Fall: Oct. 14th - Dec. 19th
Winter: Jan. 13th - March 20th
Spring: Apr. 6th - June 12th
Most classes are tuition-based; all have scholarships available. If you would like to know more about scholarships, please contact KidsCo.
Winter 2020 Info and Registration
Fall after school classes run from January 13th to March 20th. Registration opens Saturday, Dec. 7th at 7am and runs for three weeks. Registration will close Sunday, Dec. 29th an 11:59pm. All registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Once a class is full, you can sign your child up to be put on the waitlist and will be notified if a spot opens up. Upon completion of registration, you will receive immediate confirmation of successful registration.
Cancellations and/or transfers are accepted up to Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019 at 11:59 pm. No cancellations or transfers are permitted on or after the first day of the current session. There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee included in the price of each club. This fee will be deducted from refunds for cancellations.
All after school clubs will meet in the Gym after school. Once all students are signed in, instructors will take them to their designated spaces. Parents will pick up outside on the blacktop immediately after clubs are over. Children can have a small snack to bring with them to eat at the start of the club. All classes are 1.5 hours!

All Sports - Grades K-3 $205 Join One on One for All-Sport Class this coming session. Skilled and experienced instructors will conduct an exciting and productive session each week right after school. We will learn the strategies and motor-skills of various sports and games while playing games and scrimmages. Great fun, great camaraderie, and great exercise! A World of Art with Kids Create - All Grades $250 This winter we will journey around the world as we explore art forms from the far corners of the earth. We will find the sun in Mexico as we create colorful mixed media Mexican sun faces. Down under, we will design Aboriginal message sticks, filled with intricate details and secret messages. In China, we will celebrate Lunar New Year with paper sculpture Chinese dragons. On the continent of Africa, we will create African masks out of clay, and build tiny homes to create an African village. We will design decorative elephants from India, and finally, early spring cherry trees will inspire us to paint Japanese cherry blossoms. Join us for a series of exciting adventures around the world with ART!
Basketball (Hoops) - Grades 3-5 $205 Join One on One Basketball this semester for After School Hoops®, an ideal after school activity for aspiring athletes. Basketball is a unique sport that combines upper and lower body motor-skill learning with an intense cardiovascular workout. Our organization has decades of experience teaching this sport in a motivating, inclusive and age-appropriate manor. After School Hoops® makes three guarantees: your child will learn, sweat and have fun!
Chess Club with Chess Mates - Grades 1-5 $157 Join the QAE chess club! Learn tactics and strategies, play serious and just for fun games, solve chess puzzles and quizzes. All materials are provided, just come ready to learn. Each club will consist of one of the following - chess lesson/instruction, chess puzzles, games between students.
Cooking Around the World - Grades K-5 $250 Join us for 9 exciting weeks of cooking from around the world! Each week we will whip up a recipe from across the globe, including everything from sushi to Indian dosas! By the end of this series, students will have the practical skills necessary to begin cooking at home, and the knowledge necessary to eat food in a wholesome, nutritional, and sustainable manner. Creative Coding - Level Up!- Grades 3-5 $301 Coding gives your kids power over their world. In our class your child can create their own playable computer games & animations, based on their own ideas! And now, they’ll run on any internet-capable device, even tablets, so they can show them off to their friends! Woah. This class is open to all 3rd through 5th graders, including brand-new students. For 2020, we’ve renamed our core class to highlight something returning students already know: Creative Coding classes are designed to be repeated as many times as desired, and each time your child completes a CC class or summer camp, they “Level Up!” just like in video games. Yet, each class day is unique. An ever-changing mix of challenges & hacks will inspire & supplement your child’s own projects, which they’ll get to show in a presentation for parents at the end of the class! Beginners will spend the first few lessons learning the basics of coding and how to use Scratch before diving into their own projects. All the while, they’ll continue to increase their skills and capacity for persistence, through the individual assistance of our awesome instructors. Your child will have so much fun, they’ll hardly realize how much they’re learning.
Hip Pop - All Grades $270 This upbeat dance class gets the students movin' and groovin' after school!. Each class incorporates stretching, energetic warm-ups, and of course- dance games! Students learn a choreographed dance routine throughout the course and an opportunity to perform at our Metropolis Dance Show! (Media release required to participate in our show)
Improvisation w/ Stone Soup Theatre - Grades 2-5 $235 Join Stone Soup Theatre for a class in theatrical improvisation. We'll teach you to trust yourself to make up stories and characters as you go, learning story structure along the way. Creativity, confidence, and basic acting skills come together in this fast-moving class. Concludes with a performance for families and friends.
Maker Mania - Grades K-2 $195 Maker mania is crafting with recyclables sprinkled with STEAM. Classes are process oriented with plenty of time for personal exploration of materials. The teacher will present the students with materials and a sample to start from. Students then use the materials available to create whatever they choose. Some past projects have been pom pom shooters, water bottle cars and marble runs.
Parkour and the Art of Movement - Grades K-2 $315 Parkour and the Art of Movement is the ability to move fluidly through your environment from one place to another. In this class, children will safely learn to progress through the basic parkour movements of jumping, vaulting, climbing, swinging, balancing, and rolling. The movements build strength, balance, and coordination. Your child will acquire the ability to engage with their environment while overcoming obstacles, both physically and mentally. Our program is based on the 5 pillars of Social Emotional Learning (SEL), which are self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Practicing parkour skills fosters creativity and boosts confidence. Accomplishing challenges that seemed impossible at one point will give your child the confidence to achieve whatever they set their mind to.
Parkour: Run, Jump, Climb! - Grades 3-5 $180 Our high-energy, interactive classes will have your student jumping, climbing, swinging, rolling, and crawling around your local park! Through fun games, safe quality instruction, and supervised free play, we teach how to overcome fear, set goals, positively collaborate, and creatively problem solve. Whether your student is a first timer or a dedicated practitioner, these classes are perfect for improving movement and making friends.
Sewing - Grades 1-5 $205 Students are invited to learn a skill they will use for a lifetime and a hobby they will forever enjoy...sewing! No experience necessary for boys and girls to learn the basics and beyond. New students will learn machine safety and beginner sewing techniques, while the more experienced students can expand on skills they already have. The class will begin with a simple project, then students will advance at their own pace to more exciting and challenging projects throughout the session. This class is designed to teach children with both beginning and advanced skills. Projects, which are constantly rotating during the quarter, include backpacks, phone cases, clothing, accessories, bags, games, stuffed animal and more! *For all new sewers, the first class of the session is mandatory, please contact Chelsea Cook if your child is unable to attend*

Tell a Story - Grades 1-5 $248 In this class, students will use their vivid imaginations to write brand new stories. They will also learn the skills and concepts necessary to create believable characters, immersive settings, and engrossing plots. By the end of the class, they will be authors with their very own books.
Wicked the Musical w/ Stone Soup Theater - Grades 2-5 $215 Join Stone Soup Theatre for acting games, vocal exercises, and a performance of excerpts from the hit musical Wicked. Learn the untold stories of The Wizard of Oz and its most famous (or infamous) characters, the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely friend, Glinda the Good Witch. This class features hit songs like "Defying Gravity" and will conclude with a performance for families and friends.
Young Engineers: Bricks Challenge - Grades 1-5 $295 The objective of this course is to impart theoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of Science, Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by using LEGO® and other exciting tools. The main goal is to illustrate content through stories and demonstrations. Students will learn mathematics and physical principles through intuitive study; develop their independent learning; and improve their building skills. Once the concepts have been demonstrated, students enjoy hands on building the LEGO® models which provides experiential learning and reinforces the lessons. **this is a year-long class and there are all new builds this winter session** Theme this session: Transportation & Aviation What we will learn this session: Powers and principles in physics: Newton’s first law (law of inertia) and third law (action-reaction law), transmissions, chain and snail transmission, kinetic energy, potential energy, lift force and law of conservation of angular momentum.
