QAE Move-A-Thon

Picture

The Move-A-Thon is our school’s annual student-driven fundraiser. This year, it will take place in the afternoon on Thursday, October 9th. The main focuses of the Move-A-Thon are:
  1. Get moving! On the day of the event, each class will have 20 minutes to complete laps around an outdoor track on the school campus. Students will also be practicing the course during P.E. leading up to the event. Participants can run, walk, skip, roll or move however they want to around the track.
  2. Goal-setting. In P.E. class, students will work on setting a goal for how many laps they aim to complete on the day of the Move-A-Thon.
  3. Fundraising. The Move-A-Thon is one of our largest fundraisers of the year. This year, we have a goal to raise $40,000.
  4. Community building. Volunteering on the day of the Move-A-Thon is a great way to get involved with the QAE community. We also encourage friends and family to attend the Move-A-Thon and cheer on the movers. Participants will move during a 20 minute session with students from their class. Older students who have already participated earlier in the day often do laps with the younger grades to provide encouragement.
  5. Have fun. The Move-A-Thon is an energetic and playful event. We will have a DJ, popsicles and each student will receive a t-shirt.
