Theme In light of recent events and calls for action in Hollywood for inclusion and diversity, and in line with our school's values on the same, we've decided to move away from the old Hollywood theme which was chosen only to evoke an idea for dressing up. Instead, we will celebrate our community and support our PTSA as they continue to fund the fantastic programs and staff that make our school so great. Cocktail attire encouraged. Raffle Enter the pre-auction raffle sale for a one night stay in a five star hotel the evening of March 11! Raffle tickets are $25/each and the drawing will be held on February 26, 2016. Seattle Public Schools is submitting two school levies to Seattle voters for renewal in the Special Election on February 9, 2016:
Operations Levy and the Buildings The Operations Levy replaces the expiring operations levy and provides about 25 percent of funding for day-to-day educational programs and services not fully funded by the state of Washington. The operations levy pays for a portion of teacher, instructional assistant and support staff salaries, as well as textbooks, classroom supplies, safety and building security, bilingual and special educational services, professional development and training, bus transportation, student activities such as athletics, music, arts, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Technology and Academics IV (BTA IV) Capital Levy The BTA IV Capital Levy replaces the expiring BTA III Capital Levy and renews our commitment to providing safe, quality schools.

QAE PTSA Fundraising Team [email protected] qaeptsa.org/fundraising Expert on gender diversity, Aidan Key, will lead a dynamic discussion to help parents understand gender nonconformity and transgender identification in kids. He will also address ways to discuss these topics with kids, benefits experienced by children in relation to these topics. This frank and open discussion will leave plenty of room for questions, including ones about bathroom sharing, sleepovers, faith, etc. Please join us for this very special event, for parents to broaden their education on these issues, learn how we can support others, and walk away with the message that is beneficial to everyone - how we can fully embrace and love our kids for who they are.

The QAE Hiring Committee is meeting within the next week to go over the survey responses and compose interview questions.
