The QAE Auction is March 8, 2013. And it needs a fun, catchy theme! Put heads together with your child and brainstorm…and be sure to incorporate the Rocket theme, ie. "Blast Off," "Into the Future.” Get the idea? Good. Now run with it! Brainstorm NOW, because Contest starts now and ends December 7.
Send submissions to [email protected] by FRIDAY, December 7. Be sure to include your child’s name and classroom. Winner gets a Gift Certificate to Blue Highway Games!! Did you know that Washington State funding of education only covers 5 hours out of a 6 hour school day; only covers full-day kindergarten for 1 in 5 children and only pays for 3 out of every 4 teachers? Estimate for full implementation of the basic education bill of 2009 (of which the State Supreme Court has upheld in the McCleary case) is about $3 billion more annually. If you want to understand more about funding challenges facing our schools, and how we can help as a parent community, consider attending the following community meeting.

QAE PTSA The 2nd Grade PBL "Animal Team" is extending the Animal Shelter Drive for one more week!
Working in correlation with the PTSA Philanthropy Committee, Team Animal is still in process, with plans to hang posters and bake fresh animal cookies. So the donation boxes will remain for another week. Thank you to those who have already given! Also, please note that all ten (10) PBL teams have projects they are working on. The best way to get kids excited about learning is to participate in their projects. Look for posters, donation boxes and announcements from other groups. Please show our students your support. The PTSA Philanthropy Committee and Team Animal Did your child miss school picture retakes? Please contact Cari Lui at: [email protected] and let us know.
