Dear QAE community,
We’d like to thank you for participating in this year’s Jog-a-thon. This was the third and final PTSA fundraiser of the year, and as such will help us to fund many of the programs and staff that we believe are critical to our children’s education. Your time and generosity directly support our Social Emotional and Project Based learning programs, school counseling, art and music instruction, and Instructional Assistants and tutors. But most importantly, the Jog-a-thon is a community-building event that our kids lead, and by all accounts it was a great time for all involved. If you’d like to learn more about how your contributions will be spent next year, we encourage you to attend the final PTSA meeting of the year – scheduled for Thurs., June 12 at 7 pm. We look forward to seeing you there, and in the meantime please enjoy this last fun month of school. Sincerely, QAE PTSA Step Right Up! It’s time for the QAE Annual Field Day! All students and parent volunteers are invited to join in on the outdoor fun on June 18th at Little Howe Park located at 1912 Warren Ave N.
There will be playful games, face painting, ice cream and Tug-O-War! We will have a few water games, so please make sure your child is prepared. Field Day tips: · Wear close toed shoes · Bring an extra outfit to change if needed · Bring a water bottle with name on it · Pack a sack lunch and beverage (be sure to label the bag) Volunteers needed for ½ day or all day support! Derek has been temporarily replaced by Amy Janas, who will be filling the role until the June general membership meeting when a vote will be held for board positions for the 2014-15 school year.

And they’d like to invite the QAE community to their 2014 opening night on May 16 at 7:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to be there for Olympic gold medalist Sue Bird’s return to Key Arena after being out last season.
Tickets are only $15 per lower bowl seat. To purchase tickets here and enter the code explorers. The Storm organization has given us a few fun giveaways too, so once you buy your tickets please drop a line to [email protected] to let her know and you might win a t-shirt, a bobblehead or a basketball. We'd really like your help in identifying people who might be interested in serving on the PTSA. In addition, if you are interested in an open position for the 2014-15 school year, please let us know. A full list of open positions will be available soon, but some of the leadership spots we need to fill are: Co-President (1), Co-Treasurer (1), Parent Volunteer Coordinator (1), and more. If you are interested, or if you would like to make a nomination, please contact Heath Dixon, Karen Gigliotti or Cari Lui. The goal is to fill all open positions by early June.
