Of these 20,584 students, over 2,000 were homeless. Thanks to our amazing 4th graders, our QAE community has an opportunity to help some of these students and their families by providing basic pantry and toiletry items. Thank you, 4th graders! Regular legislative sessions of the Board of Directors are held the first and third Wednesdays of each month unless otherwise noted. Meetings are held in the first floor Auditorium of the John Stanford Center located at 2445 - 3rd Avenue South. The next meeting will be held December 2nd. The 4th grade is doing a project on food literacy. We’ve read Maddi’s Fridge and Crenshaw and have learned that 14% of kids in the U.S. have empty fridges half of the time.

Thank you! Written by Sadie & Iris from Room 205 As a result of messages from many PTSA groups and parents, SPS is hosting Community Meetings about proposed changes to the Student Assignment Plan. Attending a meeting is one of the most important things parents of Seattle Public Schools students can do is ensure School District administrators are as open, transparent, and inclusive as possible about district operations and planning.
It is our understanding that these proposed changes are now far less concerning than previously thought. The Hour of Code will be held Tuesday, December 8! Our Hour of Code aligns directly with Queen Anne Elementary commitment to 21st century learning and empowers young kids with great problem solving skills. We need your help to make this event successful and bring coding into our children’s lives.
