This week, we are holding our third QAE philanthropic fundraiser, which we are calling Dwankhozi Week. 

At Monday Morning Meeting, we will launch the week with a Skype visit with a few teachers and leaders from the African school. 

Throughout the week, classroom teachers will share videos, pictures and stories of our first visit, introducing all of our QAE students to the students we met in Zambia.  Families will also have the opportunity to share in this learning by visiting our Dwankhozi Partnership page.

In addition to learning about our new friends this week, we are hoping to raise funds to support our partnership by collecting money in classroom coin jars, holding a bake sale and selling Zambian fabric bracelets. There will also be a letter that comes home asking QAE families to consider making a financial contribution to this partnership.

The QAE staff has appreciated the support QAE families have shown this partnership already this year, and thank you in advance for any additional support you are able to provide this week.

Kim Estes, of Savvy Parents Safe Kids, will be talking about the tween years as a total game changer. This talk for parents will help ensure you are prepared for this normal part of growing up. Changes are coming your way! Perfect for parents of tweens and parents with younger children who want to be prepared.

Before the Seahawks there was another championship team in town – the WNBA’s Seattle Storm!  And they’d like to invite the QAE community to their 2014 opening night on May 16 at 7:00 pm.  This is a great opportunity to be there for Olympic gold medalist Sue Bird’s return to Key Arena after being out last season, and doing so for only $15 per lower bowl ticket.
