1912 Warren Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109
Bring your own picnic dinner!

Hope to see you there!

Back-to-School Night - 8/31/2016, 5-7pm

8/16/2016

The school year is almost here! The QAE Back-to-School Night Open House is on Wednesday, August 31st from 5-7pm.

QAE students and their
families can learn their classroom assignments and meet their teachers and classmates prior to the first day of school. Also, be sure to stop by the cafeteria to learn more about the PTSA, purchase QAE Spirit Wear, find out about volunteer opportunities, after-school enrichment programs and more!

We'll also have a balloon artist, Neema's Comfort Food truck, and an ice cream truck hanging out in the play area starting at 6pm. Have dinner and dessert at Queen Anne!

Please keep in mind:
  • Classroom assignments will be posted at 5pm in the brick building. Please start there.
  • Bring cash for the food and ice cream trucks (and tips for balloons).
  • Please park on the streets surrounding QAE rather than in the teachers' parking lot.
  • This is a casual, drop-in event. Stop by any time between 5 and 7pm.

We look forward to seeing you there! If you have any questions, please contact Lindsey Carrillo at lindsey.carrillo@outlook.com.

A Special ParentNet for Incoming Kindergarten Parents - 8/22

8/3/2016

Queen Anne Elementary invites you to a special ParentNet event for incoming Kindergarten parents during JumpStart Week

Let's talk about what it's like to parent our 5 and 6 year olds!  Bring your questions and bring your wisdom too, because this program is run by QAE parents, for QAE parents, to help us be the best we can be for our kids. There are no "experts" talking, but lots of good conversation and reflection by parents that will make you glad you came. It's also a great way to meet other families new to QAE!

Who: All parents of incoming Kindergarteners are invited (there's even childcare, see below!)
When: Monday, August 22 from 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Queen Anne Community Center (1901 First Ave. W, Seattle 98119)

About ParentNet
ParentNet brings together QAE parents of children in grades K-2 to talk about the challenges and joys of parenting our kids at this special age. We meet several times a year in the evening. It's a great way to meet other parents of kids the same age as yours, in an environment that's fun and inspiring.

If you're familiar with the popular PEPS program for families with new babies, you may find ParentNet to be, as one QAE dad said, "like PEPS but geared for your older child.”

QAE parents consistently praise ParentNet for creating meaningful conversations and helpful solutions to real-life parenting problems. There are no "right answers" or single parenting philosophy espoused - all the discussion, starting with picking topics to talk about, comes from the parents themselves, and the conversation is facilitated by trained QAE parent volunteers.

Childcare
Childcare will be provided on-site for kids 4 years-old and up for a $10/family donation.

For more information, see the QAE ParentNet website or email Jenny Brailey.
