On November 1st, QAE parents interested in how the PTSA supports our school are gathering to brainstorm how we raise funds. The PTSA provides support for our school's specialists, tutors, learning materials and many other programs.
Would you be willing to lend your voice, perspective, assistance? Please join us at the 5 Spot for an open discussion (and food and drinks if you wish)! When: Wednesday, Nov 1st, 6:30-8pm Where: 5 Spot Queen Anne (back dining room) If you have any questions or ideas that you'd like to share, but can't come on Nov. 1st, please contact Jenna Free and Ian Stewart, PTSA Presidents, at [email protected] It's the spookiest time of the year! The annual tradition continues in 2017 our community has its Halloween Parade and class celebrations on Tuesday, Oct. 31st! We'll be parading around the school grounds this year. Classes will meet on the blacktop and the parade begins at 1pm. Parents and families are welcome to come watch the parade. Teachers will escort their students back to their rooms for class parties after the parade for our class parties! Class parties are planned individually, so if you'd like to help out please contact your classroom coordinator or teacher. A couple details to make sure the kids remain safe while having tons of fun: it's a regular school day in the morning, so make sure your child's costume doesn't stop them from learning. Exceptions: props and masks can only be used/worn during the parade. Have a happy Halloween and don't each too much of your kid's candy! UPDATE: Due to weather concerns, this event has been changed to Saturday, November 18th from 10am to noon! We'll see you there!
Join us for a QAE Fall Garden Party on Sunday, November 19th! Our November Big Dig is all about finding new homes for the perennial garden plants. Come June, our garden space is going to be sadly bulldozed. The good is that it makes new classrooms for our growing population of students. Our Big Dig will be from 10am-12pm at the QAE Garden! Dig up now as these plants go dormant for beautiful blooms in the spring/summer. Learn how to build a cloche for winter gardening. We hope your family participates in this growing adventure with us!
