All teachers are also trained in our chosen curriculum, BetterChinese. Better Chinese materials are part of an integrated curriculum designed to motivate students in non-native Chinese environments to start speaking Chinese. Developed by experienced teachers and educators, the entire curriculum is classroom-tested with proven results through a student-centric approach, games and physical activities, art, culturally-rich and authentic content, language scaffolding and review, complete teacher support. Volunteer at the Schools First phone bank. Let's make it a Queen Anne Elementary night and show our support for Seattle Public Schools. There will be pizza. Kids are welcome. The big challenge with this ballot is getting out the vote (Schools First reports that less than 15% of eligible voters have submitted their ballots to date). Voters are not thinking about voting and mailing ballots in mid-February. We have a lot of work to do to get out the YES votes; that's where the phone calls come in! WHEN: Thurs., Feb. 7 from 5pm-8:30 -- TOMORROW NIGHT! (You don't need to stay the full 3.5 hours) WHERE: Schools First Campaign Headquarters McKinstry Innovation Center -- 210 S. Hudson St. (SW of the 4th Ave S. Costco. Heading south on 4th over the hill, take your first right at the light on Dawson. Take your next right onto 3rd Ave S. QAE PTSA All 15 members of the club participated in DebateAble's interschool debate tournament on Saturday, where every single student presented at least two arguments in the judged event. And, four of our debaters brought home medals:
Lucca Kruse and Jack Noble both won Individual Speaker medals, and Ruby Desai, Lucca Kruse, and Liam Petersen won Team Award medals as well as blue ribbons for Highest Scoring from QAE.
