QAE is the grand prize winner of Zaw Pizza's School Days, with $145 in donations that will go directly to our school, and the added bonus of a phenomenal auction item: An Ultimate Pizza Party for up to eight kids in Zaw's Queen Anne store.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Queen Anne Elementary launch party and auction last Friday night. Thanks to your generosity, we raised almost $60,000!! A number of people left without claiming their gift certificates. If you are missing a gift certificate that you paid for, please contact Holley Ring or Natalie Carlson and let us know your name, your child’s name and class. We can deliver the gift certificates to their classroom or make other arrangements if you prefer. If you purchased a digital image, Krissi Beeksma will be sending them to you electronically. She may need some help identifying your child since she doesn’t yet know everyone so she may need you to describe the photo a bit. For those who were unable to attend, you still have the opportunity to purchase a few of the awesome sign up auction items: 1 Portraits of your child : amazing black and white portraits of your child taken by our own Krissi Beeksma, a professional photographer. They are $20 per photo and $40 for photo and digital image. These will be posted in the school office. Please note on the sign up sheet (at the counter) which you want, leave a check for the appropriate amount and take your child’s photo with you. 2) QAE logo T-shirts, Hoodies and new Baseball caps: Purple long sleeved Tshirts are $18 for child, $20 for adult. Hoodies are $35 for child, $40 for adult. Baseball caps come in orange, khaki, black or purple and are $20 for child or adult size. 3) Smoothie party on wheels with Mr. Roberts and Ms. Leland – there are still a handful of spots available for this May 14 event. It’s from 1 to 4 pm. $75 per child. 4) First ever Slumber Party in the Library with Mr. Elliott, Ms. Cryan-Leary and Mr. Jeffrey. $100 per child., 2nd grade and above. Date TBD. Act quickly as there are just a few spots left! 5) Books and breakfast with Ms. Meyers. Before school croissants, hot chocolate and fruit and a chance to work one on one with Ms. Meyers. $100 per student. Sign up sheets will be posted at the school office. Please drop a check off in the PTSA box for the correct amount and sign up for any or all of the above. If you can’t make it to school but want to sign up for one of these items. send us an email and forward a check to the PTSA. All proceeds will directly benefit the school. Dear QAE Families, Friday's Launch party was a HUGE success! Not only was it a fun, festive evening full of laughter and warmth, it was also an extremely successful fundraiser. Together, we raised over $50 thousand for QAE! We should all be proud of the dedication shown by our community to this school and its students. Karrie Sanderson, our PTSA Pesident be there as a tour host, as will our VP, Jill Gallagher. We will need 2-3 additional parent volunteers to help lead groups around to the classrooms and answer questions. Can you help? If you can, let me know and plan to arrive at the office by 9:45. QAE PTSA McClure Middle School will be conducting daytime school visit tours for new families on: Thursday, March 24th All tours will take place from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Additionally, there will be an Evening Open House on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Still deciding where you want to enroll your children for fall, 2011? March 30th is your last opportunity to tour Queen Anne Elementary. This is an addition to the original tour schedule, so please pass this one to anyone you know who might be interested. Again, it will be March 30th at 10am.

QAE PTSA Meet Interim Superintendent Dr. Susan Enfield and interim CFO Robert Boesche Wednesday, March 30 at the John Stanford Center Auditorium 2445 3rd Ave South Snacks and socializing at 6:30 p.m., meeting at 7:00 p.m. Attached is a flyer for our rescheduled Readers Workshop - a 5-week series for adults beginning April 27 to help deepen a love of reading for both adults and students, explore different genres, and learn classroom reading strategies to use at home.
