With the sudden departure from in-person school in March, we know that your student may have some belongings at school. And you may have some library books that need to be returned.
We have time reserved on Tuesday and Wednesday to drop off books and pick up belongings. To practice physical distancing, we will be handling via drive-through and there will be set time by grade. The pick up/drop off will take place in the staff parking lot on the north side of the school. Here's the time slots: Tuesday, June 9th:

Jump Start is a free, district-wide week-long experience for Kindergartners to learn about school. Children will become familiar with their new school building, staff, typical school day activities and practices.
The QAE edition is happening August 20-24th at John Marshall School, our home for the 2018-19 school year. Check out the Jump Start page for all the details.  UPDATE: We've added a time and location for Sunday's playdate at John Marshall!
So has summer been going by as fast for you as it has for us? Hard to believe school starts in about a month! We're starting to get back in the swing of things, including setting up some playdates for this month so that new QAE kindergarten families can get to know each other. It's not just for incoming kindergartners though -- any QAE family is welcome to attend! Please RSVP here to let us know you're coming. If you're looking for summer camp options for your kids, Kids Co. wanted to let you know that enrollment is open for summer: The first day of Kindergarten Jump Start happened to coincide with the 2017 solar eclipse! In the spirit of always learning, our K teachers helped the incoming Kindergartners explore this amazing event: Our little Rockets are blasting off toward kindergarten. Kindergarten Jump Start runs the week of August 21st through 25th. Let's celebrate this big step by gathering at the playing field at Little Howe Park on Saturday, August 19th from 3-5pm.
Little Howe field is an area often utilized by QAE for great events like Field Day at the end of the school year and other fun school experiences. So join us for a mini-Field Day devoted to our Kinders with lots of fun field game play, bubbles and snacks! It's a great way to meet other Kindergarten families and have some summer weekend fun. We'd love to see you at the Queen Anne Elementary "Summer Nights" Pool Party Saturday, August 5th at Pop Mounger Pool in Magnolia hosted by us, your friendly QAE PTSA crew! We've reserved the entire pool specifically for QAE families! Both pools will be open along with the water slide. The PTSA will also provides snacks and drinks. Have a great evening with great friends as we build memories to take into the Fall. When: Saturday, August 5th, 7-8:30pm Where: Pop Mounger Pool, 2535 32nd Ave W, Seattle 98199 We are renting out the pool exclusive to the QAE community only 250 total spots available. We have reached capacity for the Pool Party! Our apologies if you weren't able to RSVP in time. Look for more fun events in the near future! To help us defray the cost of the pool rental, food and drinks, the PTSA is suggesting a donation of $5 per attendee. Please note -- this is completely optional, all families are welcome!  Flip flops, friends and fun! We'd love to see you at the Queen Anne Elementary "Summer Nights" Pool Party Saturday, August 5th 7-8:30pm at Pop Mounger Pool hosted by us, your friendly QAE PTSA crew! We've reserved the entire pool specifically for QAE families! Swimming, a cute little water slide, two pools (3ft. Kiddie pool & deep end pool) food, soft drinks, and great peeps will create a chill evening and build memories to take into the Fall. Lifeguards will be on duty and life vests available for swimmers that need safety flotation. It's free to attend, though we'd ask for a $5 donation per person to cover the cost of food and drinks. Check back soon for our online registration form!  If your child has been receiving Weekend Food Bags, they can continue to receive them over the summer. Seattle Public Schools is offering a FREE SUMMER PROGRAM for any student grades K-4 who are below grade level in literacy and/or math. It runs from June 28th through July 28th and includes transportation as well as meals. See the Summer Staircase site for more details.  Twas the night before school starts ... let's meet in the park!
Join us for the final summer playdate on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 6th from 5-7pm. We'll be playing at Little Howe and will have some snacks and drinks, but you're welcome to bring your own picnic dinner. All are welcome. Look for the purple and orange balloons! Have your kid grab their swimsuit and join us for the second QAE summer playdate on Sunday from 11am-1pm! It's an informal way for you and your kids to chat with other Queen Anne Elementary families.
