The 4th grade is doing a project on food literacy. We’ve read Maddi’s Fridge and Crenshaw and have learned that 14% of kids in the U.S. have empty fridges half of the time.
We are asking QAE students to bring in food next week and giving this food to the Queen Anne Food Bank.
Most needed food items: canned fruit and fruit cups, canned soup and chili, jams, jelly, canned meat, healthy snacks (granola bars, protein bars, etc.), mayonnaise, mustard, cooking oil, spices, cold cereal, peanut butter
Most needed non-food items: heat tolerant paper, disposable sporks, cups for soup, hygiene products (toilet paper, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors)
Starting Monday, November 16, there will be a Food Drive bin in both the Treehouse and the Brick Building.
