PTSA Members: The state needs to cut $2 billion from the biennial budget, and children’s programs – including public schools – could again take a big hit.
The governor will be making her recommendations by mid-November. Her office has identified $4 billion in possible budget reductions and highlighted $2 billion in likely choices. Possibilities include eliminating school bus transportation ($220M), increasing class size by two students in grades 4-12 ($137M), and reducing the school year from 180 to 175 days ($125M). For the big list of possible reductions please click here.

We encourage all PTSA members to contact the governor and list your three (3) top funding priorities
