Panel Members Julie Bedell, a Dyslexia/ dysgraphia tutor with a private practice of 7 years, reading specialist, and currently a 2nd grade teacher Coe Elementary School. Joe Booth is a QAE parent and dyslexia advocate. Joe has been working for 25 years in the video game industry, and founded his own company, Vidya, in 2013. Joe is also working with Drs. Brock and Fernette Eide, authors of The Dyslexic Advantage, on apps to aid in the early identification of dyslexia. Sara Buetow is the parent founding member of Decoding Dyslexia - Washington, a local branch of the national dyslexia advocacy group that seeks to increase awareness, ensure the availability of appropriate educational interventions and to influence some positive policy change. Amy Fleisher, a former teacher, is the parent of two sons and expert at navigating Seattle Public Schools. Amy will address how to locate resources for struggling readers both in the Public School System and out. Dr. Angela Hungelmann received her Ph.D. in School Psychology with a specialization in Pediatric Neuropsychology from the University of Utah. She completed a child clinical/pediatric psychology and neuropsychology predoctoral internship at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, and a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle. Dr. Hungelmann specializes in comprehensive learning and neuropsychological assessments, parent consultation, and therapy with adolescents and young adults. Bonnie Meyer is currently the Executive Director of the Slingerland Institute and a reading specialist in the Catholic Archdiocese. Bonnie has been a past president of the Washington branch of the International Dyslexia Association, and is active in both local and National IDA. Laura Rogan is a dyslexia tutor with a private practice for 17 years. Laura is the founder/author of Wired for Reading, a series of three courses she teaches educators.
