Please join 5th grade students after school on Tuesday, April 26th for a Bake Sale/Arts Sale to raise funds for Rainier Beach High School Freedom School summer program!
The RBHS Freedom School is an incredible program that supports Rainier Beach high school students in organizing around social justice issues in Seattle. 5th grade students had the amazing opportunity to work with members the Freedom School as part of our MLK assembly. They taught us all about educational equity, and several students participated in a SPS Board Meeting to help support the Orca Card program this past February.
Unfortunately, the Freedom School has just lost a major source of funding and needs to raise $20,000 by next Friday in order to keep the program running for this upcoming summer!
5th graders and QAE teachers want to do all we can to support RBHS Freedom School and keep it open! 5th graders will be putting on a baked goods and original art fundraiser in front of the Treehouse next Tuesday. We hope that you join us and participate in fighting for educational opportunities for ALL of Seattle's young people!
If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Goldman (5th Grade) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
