From Principal Elliott:
We have a number of intersections around our school that require very careful supervision and very few children old enough to participate in that responsibility. Our immediate need is for 10-15 parents who would be willing to devote a morning (9-9:30am) or afternoon or more for the first two weeks of school while Joe Bailey is doing refresher training and recruiting for new trainees. We will have an ongoing need for parent volunteers at 4th and Boston, nicknamed Crazy Town by those who worked there last year. We believe it is too busy and too dangerous for students to monitor and need two parent volunteers every day of the school year. Last year about eight to ten parents performed that service all year and we would love to have twice that many step forward this year to take the responsibility off the few. If you can help with the short-term—the next few weeks—or believe you might help in the long-term, please email Joe Bailey at email@example.com as soon as possible.
