Put the QAE Jog-a-thon on your calendar for Friday, October 21st!
Our big Fall fundraising event is the Jog-a-Thon, and it’s coming soon! The Jog-a-Thon is a fun afternoon of energy, exercise, and enthusiasm that includes all students at QAE, and is our main kid-powered fundraising event for the year (we won’t be selling wrapping paper, candy or cookie dough!). The kids collect sponsors then have a blast jogging around the school grounds, while they feel great about doing their part to raise money for their school and special events they love like field trips. Every student who participates receives a QAE Jog-a-thon t-shirt, plus the chance to win prizes, thanks to generous donations from our community event sponsors.
During the first week of October a packet will come home in orange folders with more information and sponsor forms, so it would be great to start thinking about who might want to sponsor your kids- friends, family, neighbors, anyone who would like to support QAE.
What we need right now are some additional event sponsors- these are community businesses who give a contribution to help cover the costs of the event so that all of the money that the kids raise goes directly to the school. The event sponsors will be featured on the t-shirts, acknowledged in QAE communications, and at the event itself. If you or someone you know might be interested in being an event sponsor, please contact Holley Ring firstname.lastname@example.org or Mary Lee email@example.com.
We are also looking for parents who would like to be part of the party… We will mostly need people to help set up (starting about noon) and then to count laps, serve water, and cheer the kids on through the afternoon. If you would like to volunteer to help at the Jog-a-thon, please contact Holley. Thanks for your support of QAE!
